Cycs Victorious over Kincardine
Friday night, the Novice Rep boys played their first home game at the Wallace Arena.  All the boys played a strong game and skated to a 7 - 0 victory. Travis Bannerman, while not facing many shots, played a solid game in net and made timely saves when called upon to preserve the shutout.

Brandon "Wally" Wall opened the scoring at the 4:13 minute in the first during a scramble by sliding the puck under a few Kinucks players. Eric Vander Eyk scored in the final seconds of the opening frame with an unassisted effort in the top corner.
The only goal in the second period was by Riley Kuepfer and assisted by Keegan Long and Keaton Yungblut.
The third period was totally dominated by the Listowel squad as the Kincardine boys seem to run out of steam. Kuepfer picked up his second of the game early in the period assisted by Wall and Jake Zyta. While Yungblut was sitting in the sin bin for a roughing penalty, Sam Town broke in alone on goal and roofed a hi-lite goal just under the cross-bar. Assists went to Zyta and Long. Kuepfer completed the hat-trick with a determined effort by finishing up with his own rebound. Assists to Connor McGrath and Brandon Wall. The final goal of the game saw Jake "the Snake" Zyta cruising down the right side and while using a teammate as a decoy, slid the puck along the ice, scoring 5-hole. Assists to Town and Long.
The victory leaves the Cycs tied for first overall in the standings with a 3 - 0 - 1 record.  Next weekend finds the team playing in their first of four tournaments in New Hamburg. The boys will get a much needed break from school as they play two games on Friday, the first being at 8AM against the host team and their second game at 1:30PM versus Mooretown.  Halloween day, they play against Simcoe at 12:30PM. Their final game will be on Sunday, time TBA.
