Welcome all Mite Players and Parents.
I will start by introducing myself, I'm Don Zilliax and I will be taking the lead with the Mite program this year with the support of Trevor Reading who is the Minor Hockey represantative in charge of the Junior Development.
We are excited about our increase in participation, this year we have 37 kids signed up for our Mite Program.
It is great to see so many new kids interested in starting their Hockey career, but we do have some challenges and changes that come along with this increased enrolement.
We have decided to split the group into two (Mite Red, Mite White) as we begin our season. We will have two separate ice times following each other, the first Practices will be Sept. 25th at 8:00am to 8:45 and 8:45 to 9:30
I will be contacting all registered Players (Parents) by phone over the next few days to let you know what time your child will start, anyone wanting to help please let me know.

Mites:
On Behalf of LMHA I would like to welcome the new registrants and existing registrants to the Mite 2010 Program.
- The ages of the participants range from birth years 2005 and below.
- If your hockey player is in this age category or is older and would like to be placed in this program (ie. First time player and/or learning how to skate).
Note: (players will not be placed in this program due to other sibblings in other programs it will be based upon skill level approved by Director).
· Program will begin on weekend of September 25th, 2010. Schedules will be posted on website.
· Teams will be split into two teams Mite Red and Mite White.
· The criteria for the program will be as follows:
1. Teaching basic hockey skills so players can enjoy the game.
2. Assisting in development and enhancement of basic motor patterns.
3. Developing and encouraging the concept of team, through player participation in on and
off- ice activities.
4. To implement fitness, fair play and co-operation aspects within the fun of the game.
During the season the players will practice two times /week.
As the season progresses some ½ ice games will be implemented into the program.
The teams will enter 1 or 2 out of town tournaments after Christmas break.
