Robinson Chalks Up Shutout
Ian Robinson stopped numerous scoring attempts by BCH last night as the Midget Reps got their second win of the regular season.
Listowel dominated the BCH squad throughout most of the game with hard hits and good passing. The team was lead by the solid goaltending of Ian Robinson throughout most of the game outdueling the goaltending efforts of the BCH tender. From what was shown over the last few periods this team has played, they are getting better every game played together.
Listowel opened the scoring in the first period with a goal from Jonathan Hunsberger assisted by Mark Verkley. Listowel got into some penalty trouble but successfully killed it off by great penalty killing from the forwards, defence and most notably the goaltender. Listowel ended the first with a 1-0 lead.
The second period was a goaltending show as both goalies exchanged numerous saves throughout most of the period. The biggest save of the game had to be from the BCH goaltender who stopped numerous scoring attempts when Listowel was on the powerplay. Philip Boertien solved the BCH goalie late in the second period after 3 scoring opportunities that had been stopped by putting a goal over the shoulder of the sprawling goalie.
The third period was noted by the solid checking of the Listowel team. Eric Boisvert scored the third Listowel goal with about 11 minutes left in the third and Listowel never looked back.
