Listowel goaltender Ian Robinson braces for a breakaway attempt from Wingham's Trevor Moore with teammate Steven Kerr in hot pursuit.

One minute and 35 seconds.

That's all it took for the Listowel Midget Reps to climb back in their game against Wingham on Oct. 14. After trailing 2-0 for most of the night, Listowel's George McKeown finally beat goaltender Greg Dodds on a 5-hole shot with seven minutes to go in the third period.

That was the spark they needed as 1:35 later Eric Boisvert chipped another puck past Dodds to fire up his teammates and even the score. Netminder Ian Robinson made several key stops in the final five minutes, including a breakaway save on Wingham sniper Graham Ashcroft, to preserve the tie.

Wingham head coach Mitch Skinn was impressed with what the visitors brought to the ice. "Listowel's a good team," Skinn said. "We would have liked to have the win but we'll take the point." Ben Binning, assistant coach for Listowel, said his team only played eight minutes of good hockey.

The Midgets were not afraid to throw the body around as they rocked several opposing players with open-ice hits. Blake Thompson had a gloves-on shoving match with Wingham's George Armstrong late in the third. Five different Listowel players paid visits to the sin-bin, including Josh McPhee, Steven Kerr, Justin Jacklin, Boisvert and Thompson.
