With the Silver Stick qualifier so early in the season the AE’s have been busy preparing themselves for this tournament
Along with some practices and a couple of exhibition games the team has already played 4 league games, finishing them with a 3-1 record. During this busy week the team lost 3-2 to Mitchell, then went on to defeat Drayton 6-1, BCH 8-2 and Howick 6-0.
Hard work seems to be the key to the team’s success as they are relentless in their effort. The AE’s have also utilized a balance attach as during the 4 games every player has hit the score sheets at least once. Dustin Langer has lead the way with 5 goals over this span, while Jason Hollinger, Devon Elg & Cory George have 3 apiece… Matt Wilkans, Scott Boertien & Adison Alexander each have 2 while Steve Cleary & Drew Hicks each chipped in with 1. Collecting assists over the 4 games are Langer (5), Hollinger (3), George (2), Elg (2), Justin Bauman (2), Wilkans (2), Chris Daviau (2), Alexander (2), Marty Richards (1), Hicks (1), Anthony Quipp (1), Ben Verkley (1) & Jordan Rumph (1)
This weekend in Collingwood will prove to be a good measuring stick for the team as they have already shown signs of improvements.
