Novice Reps Out-Hustle Brussels/Blyth
The series between these two powerhouse teams was deadlocked 1-1 going into today’s contest.

The first meeting saw Brussels boast a 4-3 win.  The second game saw a hungrier Listowel team dominate the match and won convincingly 8-2.  Today the opponents were looking for revenge.

Chet Crosby broke the scoring open with a 1st period goal.  Chet’s end-to-end play continues to flourish with each passing game.  Carter Crosby (Coombs) treated the fans with his magic, scoring one of his 2 goals.  Brussels, not to be denied their chances, came back to within one goal in the 2nd period.

Play continued the full end of the rink, but the defensive domination from Cole, Tayttum, Drew and Colin kept the puck on our forward’s sticks.  Brussels met with many outstanding defensive plays that kept their scoring chances to a minimum.

Ben Gretzky gave us a look into the past with his celebratory display after his goal.  Ben’s quick hands and post-goal celebration gave us a glimpse of the Great One himself.  Carter Crosby (Servais) made yet another one of his spectacular end-to-end efforts resulting in Listowel’s 4th goal of the game.  Carter Coombs and Chet added a second goal each, and Nico Grabovski added the final goal to top Brussels 7-2.

Assists from Chet Crosby, Colin Phanuef, and Carter Crosby (Servais) showed the unselfish play this team keeps building on.

Bret, Mika, Carter and Brayden never gave up and worked extremely hard for puck possession, and this ultimately resulted in many of the goals Listowel scored.

Josh Kiprosoff dazzled the fans again with toe saves that seemed to come from nowhere.  The glove flashed several times and even the post helped out once.

The whole Listowel team gave us 3 full periods of gut-busting effort, thus not allowing Brussels to claw back into the game.

What a fantastic effort from everyone.
