Novice Rep Team Keep Improving
The Novice Rep team have completed another five games and the improvement on the ice can be seen each and every time out.

On October 27th the team travelled to Seaforth to face the Stars.  After a sluggish start, the team found themselves down 1-0 part way through the first before coming back to tie the game before the end of the period on a goal from Camden assisted by Ty.

The team came out with a flurry of 5 goals in the second period, including 3 in a 16 second span midway through the period.  Coombsy scored 2, Ben scored 2 and then Camden rounded out the second period scoring with his 2nd with assist going to Ty.  The third was more of the second with Brayden getting in on the act from Carter Coombs, Camden with the hat trick (Ty assisting), Coombsy then scoring his hat-trick goal (Caleb assisting) and Camden with his fourth to round out the scoring and the 10-1 final.

The team then tried to keep the momentum going on Sunday at home vs the BCH Ice Dogs.  the team roared out of the gate with two quick goals from Carter and Camden (assisted by Carter and Ty) on the first shift.  however the strong Ice Dog team would score 2 before the end of the period to tie the match.  The 2nd would see the opposition go up by 2 but the Cyc's never die attitude saw Coombsy score with 2 seconds left in the period to go into the 3rd only down 1.   The game would go back and forth with teams trading 2 goals each (Coombsy and Ty scoring) through the first part of the period.    midway through the 3rd, the wheels then seemed to fall off the bus as BCH scored 5 goals in just over 4 minutes to go up 11-5.  The Cyc's would get one back with Coombsy finding the back of the net with 23 seconds left for his 4th of the game to make the final 11-6.

Next was a date with the Meteors of Mitchell on Tuesday night.  The team would be down one after the 1st but tie the game early in the 2nd when Coombsy scored.  Mitchell would score 2 more in the period to go into the 3rd with a 3-1 lead.  Coombsy would get his second from Ty to close the gap but Mitchell restored their 2 goal lead shortly thereafter.  Owen would score midway through the period to again get the team close but a late goal by Mitchell resulted in a 5-3 final score.  However this is another improvement compared to previous games.

The team the travelled to Clinton to play BCH once again.  Another back and forth game with this team saw us down 2-1 after the first on a goal from Coombsy.  A couple minutes of sloppy hockey in the 2nd resulted in a flurry of goals.  unfortunately it was 4 for BCH and only 2 for the Cyc's.  Camden from Coombsy and goalie Ethan and Coombsy unassisted left our team down 6-3 heading into the 3rd.  Mr. Coombs would score 2 more in the 3rd (assists to Camden and Brayden) to BCH's 1 resulting in the 7-5 final.  Again an improved score vs previous games against BCH.

Sunday was back at home vs Seaforth hoping to get another victory.  The kids played a hard first but unfortunately they were stymied by the Stars goalie and were down 1-0 at the end of the period.  A 6 goal outburst in the 2nd and 5 in the 3rd resulting in an 11-1 victory for the team.  Goal scorers were Coombsy (4), Camden (3), Caleb, Carter Coates, Ben,and Owen.  Assists were Caleb (4), Owen (3), Ben (3), Jay (2), Harrison (2), Brayden, Brooke, Coombsy, Camden, Coatesy and Logan.  Although they were the only one's to not get on the sheet officially Ethan played a strong game in net and Drew and Ty played great defense keeping the puck in the opposing end many times.

Next up is Wingham and Goderich this weekend.

See you at the rink.
