Atom Rep, U11, 2014-2015 (Listowel Minor Hockey Association)

The Atom Rep’s and their family’s got away early on Friday Jan. 9th in the middle of some heavy snow squalls, but all arrived without issue and ready to start the tourney opener against the home town Peterborough Pete’s. This was the 57th annual Liftlock Tournament with 97 teams competing in 9 different divisions. The Atoms competed in the C division with 17 other teams.

     After a bit of a slow start, the Listowel Atom Rep Cyclones have started to roll.  While still learning and adapting to the team-first systems, the Cycs entered into the Schomberg tournament in late October.  As defending champs, the Listowel team knew this tournament would provide a good gauge of the 2014/15 competition.  By Sunday morning, strong team defense and outstanding goal tending meant the Cyc team had only allowed 4 goals in 3 contests and were yet to lose a game. 

What a start to the 2014-15 Season.   Walkerton had the upper hand in our 1st game.  We were up 2-0 and they came back and beat us 4-2.  The kids came out strong on Saturday in Walkerton.  Jack got his 1st shutout of the regular season for a win of 5-0.  Goals and assists went to Harrison (Ben N, Cole) Cole 2 (Ben N) Owen (unassisted), Ben (unassisted).
