Red Draws With Drayton In Last Match At The Mem
In their final contest at the Listowel Memorial Arena, Novice LL Red tied the Drayton Defenders, 0-0, on Saturday.
Listowel controlled play for much of the game but were unable to find the back of the Drayton net.
Red's defensive unit played perhaps their best game, aiding Noah Szasz in his 3rd shutout of the season.
Brynn Berfelz, Oliver Hershey and Finn Molenhuis aided the forwards in the transition game while Warner Hurst held the blue line all game long, hemming the Defenders into their own end. Hurst's efforts stood out enough to earn him Player of the Game honours.
Spencer Henhoeffer and Grayson Matheson used their speed to generate several chances with their linemate, Ruby Hillier, who had many in-tight chances.
The trio of Nehemiah Dyck, Kole Schiestel and Noah Hiemstra used great positional play to maintain long periods of offensive pressure.
Red will hit the ice for several practices this week before a date with the Falcons in Hanover at 10am on Saturday.
