Red Short-handed But Shows Strong Through Three Game Stretch
Listowel Atom Red finished even through a stretch of three games in three days, despite being undermanned throughout.
Red took the Hanover Falcons to overtime on Thursday, but were ultimately edged in the extra frame.
Listowel followed up with a 3-1 win on Friday, an impressive task considering they were down to eight skaters and topped the team that beat them just six days earlier.
Red then kept Hanover to 1-1 through all but two seconds of regulation on Saturday, losing another tough battle in the dying seconds.
Listowel is to be commended as players have been away with illness and holidays over the course of the week. They have had to double-shift at times and play while exhausted, but have come together to earn three of six points in the last few days.
Red's next playoff task comes on Monday, as the crew will head to Walkerton for a 6:00 pm faceoff with the Capitals.
