U9T1 Cycs rally but can't complete comeback vs Preds
The young Cycs played from behind the entire game vs the Central Perth Predators and although they tied it twice couldn't close the gap in the end falling 5-4 on home ice.  The road team got on the board early less than two minutes into the contest but the Cycs responded a few minutes later when Ian Magee found Maddox Birk in the slot and he made no mistake with a rocket top shelf.  The Preds would find the net late in the first but again the Cycs would respond on a face off win by Birk and shot by Magee.  At the end of the first period, the score was knotted at 2.

The Preds would take back the lead early into the 2nd and add to their lead mid way through before Birk would find the scoresheet again set up by Tyce Passmore.  Early in the 3rd CP would add an insurance marker on the power play and the Cycs would see themselves down two once again.  With all sorts of time in the offensive zone in the last ten minutes the Preds goalie stood tall but Hunter Adamson would beat him just shy of the three minute mark to breath life into the home team.  With the goalie pulled they would get a few chances but in the end couldn't' tie it up, falling 5-4.

Brandt Donaldson was a force all night holding the blue line and taking it to the Preds puck carriers and took home the Cycs chain.

The team is back in action this weekend in Mt Forest when they take on Drayton, Kincardine and Central Perth in a year end tournament.
