U9T1 Cycs back in the win column with a 5-3 result over Mitchell
The young Cyclones played their 11th game in the last 13 days, a lot of which were with a short bench, and were able to pick up a 5-3 win over the Mitchell Meteors.

Tyce Passmore would get the nod between the pipes in this one and made some big stops on route to his first win as a goalie.  A welcome site to the team was Miles Good back on the ice skating hard after some holiday time away.

The home team would open the scoring late in the first period when Maddox Birk found Ian Magee on the doorstep and he banged it home.  The Meteors would respond and tie it late in the period but call up Bethany Reynolds would set up Magee for his 2nd of the game on what was intended to be a cross crease pass to Birk that ended up behind the goalie (we'll take them all).  Score at the end of 1 was 2-1 Cycs.

The road team would tie it early in the 2nd but mid way through the frame the speedy wheels of Hunter Adamson would spring him for a chance and he would wire a wrister home to restore a 3-2 lead heading into the third.

A few minutes in, Magee would return the earlier favour and find Birk in the blue paint and he would also not disappoint, banging it in to stretch the lead to 2.  The Cycs would have all sorts of chances in the 3rd but would only muster one more goal when Sully Meulensteen would hit Magee who picked up the hat trick.  The Meteors would beat Passmore one more time late but the Cycs would hold on to a 5-3 win.

From the drop of the puck this one seemed like more of a defensive style game and the home team did a great job of protecting it's net led by the rock solid defence of Brandt Donaldson, Alton Sholdice, Fin Long and Zach Reynolds.  Oliver Gutnecht played his usual style of relentless backchecking and solid play in his own end.  if it wasn't for the work of this hard working group the goal scorers would not be able to do what they do, these unsung heroes definitely deserve a shout out for all that they do every game!  Passmore would pick up the Cycs chain in this one for stepping into the crease and giving the team a solid performance in his first ever game in net!!

Final game of the season is tonight vs Mid Huron at SKMC.
