Midget Rep, U18, 2013-2014 (Listowel Minor Hockey Association)

The Listowel Midget Rep team played inspired hockey this past weekend in Parry Sound going 5-1 in tournament play. Game #1 on Friday Dec 6th had the Cyclones up against Ayr. The same team who had recently eliminated the Cyclones at the regional silver stick. The Cyclones attacked early and often and were rewarded with a 3-0 lead after 1 period, only to watch Ayr claw back and make it close scoring there 2nd goal with 45 seconds remaining in the 3rd. The Cyclones hung on for a 3-2 win.

The Reps started December with a trip to Mildmay, to take on the division leading South Bruce squad (Mildmay-Teeswater combination). The Cycs opened the scoring in the first period, pinning South Bruce in their end for the shift and Tyler Hak finishing it off with a goal.

The Reps competed in the Regional Silverstick tournament, held in Wingham over November 17th through to the 24th, narrowly missing out with advancing to the semi-finals. ​In game #1 against Walkerton, the Cyclones got off to a great first period start, taking a 3-0 lead. Tyler Hak opened the scoring, streaking down the left side, receiving a pass from Cole McKee. On a similar play, Riley Conners stormed down the wing, and finished off a passing play which included McKee and Hak. Bryce Fletcher scored the third goal, as he jumped on a juicy rebound, off a Andrew Gooding shot.

The Listowel Midget Reps are off to a 5-1 start in league play. In the season/home opener, the Cyclones controlled the play throughout the game, managing a 6-0 victory.
