Red Records Second Straight Win
Listowel Atom Red collected a 3-0 victory in Arthur on Saturday to improve to 2-1-0.

Red got going late in the first period on Nehemiah Dyck's first goal of the season.  The shot was set up by fellow line mates, Noah Hiemstra and Ruby Hillier, who worked in tandem to dig the puck from the corner.

The game remained 1-0 until the middle of the third when Owen Alexander jumped on a rebound to double Listowel's lead.  The goal was nearly a carbon-copy of the first, as Linc Lannin dug out the puck in the corner and Kingston Powell put it on net.

The third goal came off the stick of Hillier late in regulation, netting her second in as many games.  Again the marker came as a result of Red's relentless pressure.

That solid forecheck was powered by Listowel's defensive tandems of Warner Hurst, Lucas McLeod, Brynlee Binning and Oliver Hershey.  The four blueliners held the offensive line for the entire contest, and kept the puck away from the front of the net when in their own end.

The end-to-end defensive effort helped lead to Ryan Reath's first career shutout, coming a week after his first career win.

Listowel now has another week to stay sharp, following up a couple practices over the next six days before a game against South Bruce at the SKMC next Saturday at 4:15 pm.
