Red Earns Tie In Dying Seconds
Listowel Atom Red used a last-second goal to tie its game with the Hanover Falcons.

With the goalie pulled, Owen Alexander won the faceoff and drove the net to bang in his own rebound, cementing a 1-1 tie with seven seconds left in the game.

Ryan Reath came up with some big glove saves prior to that moment and was the first to jump off the bench to celebrate with his teammates after the goal.

Helping him clear pucks throughout the game was the defensive unit of Lucas McLeod, Brynlee Binning, Warner Hurst and Oliver Hershey, who took an improved aggressive approach to slowing down a potent Falcons attack.

The line of Noah Hiemstra, Ruby Hillier and Nehemiah Dyck was reunited and generated some offensive chances but couldn't quite finish, as did fellow forwards, Blake McTavish, Kingston Powell and Linc Lannin.

Listowel managed to turn a slow start into a tie today, but the club will need a full three-period effort for its next contest, a Wednesday evening affair in Drayton at 7:30 pm.
