Peewee AE Heads into Holiday Season
As Christmas approaches, the Peewee AE hopes to wrap up the regular season and find a few more wins under their tree.

Recent games have seen the boys struggling to come out on top, with three of their last 4 games ending in ties.  December 7th the team headed to Goderich to face off against the Sailors.  The last time they met on home ice the Cyclones came away with a 9-2 win.  This time, however, the boys couldn't find any traction and the game ended in a 1-1 tie, with Justin scoring a beauty, assisted by Smitty and Owen.

The next night, Elma-Logan came to town.  A great match up that kept the refs whistles busy, ended in yet another tie.  The final was 2-2, with Kris and Freshie (Maddox assist) potting the goals.

The Cyclones continued their physical style of play in their game December 15th against the Mitchell Meteors.  The Cycs would find themselves shorthanded 6 times, but thanks to some good backchecking and solid goaltending by Lucas, they would manage a 2-1 win, with goals from Nick and Maddox (assisted by Owen and Brayden).

Last night, the boys met the Lucknow Sepoys for the first time.  The Cyclones out played the Sepoys in the first period with the puck seldom leaving the Sepoys end thanks to strong defensive play by Matt and Connor.  However, the forwards could not get one past the strong Sepoys goaltender and the first ended scoreless.  The boys lost a little ground and the play moved into the Cyclones end a little more often by the second period, though Brayden and Liam managed to stick to their men, making scoring a challenge.  Several good rushes to the Sepoys end by Seth and Nick just didn't pay off.  Finally, while on a power play, Jacob fired one top shelf with assists by Justin and Kris.  But 5 seconds later, the Sepoys would get a rebound shot over Lucas' leg.  The second ended 1-1.  The boys continued to struggle to maintain possession of the puck through most of the third.  The Sepoys scored again at 11:12, pulling ahead 2-1.   The Cycs kept fighting back, with some great shots taken by Bo from the blue line, and some nice rushes by Freshie.  But it was Bret who would find Maddox who took a shot and then poked in his own rebound.  The score was finally tied with 6 minutes to go.  The boys kept up that momentum until the end of the game, but luck was not on their side and the score remained tied at 2-2.

The Cyclones will face off against the Saugeen Shores Storm this Saturday in Southampton.
