Cyclones Shut Out By Storm
The Listowel U13-AE Cyclones were blanked, 2-0, by the Saugeen Shores Storm on Wednesday.

The match was nearly a draw as the Storm snuck in a rebound in the first period and added a late empty-netter, all while Listowel looked to have tied the game in the second period but was denied on a controversial no-goal call - much to the dismay of the onlooking Jr. B squad.

Listowel's goaltending was strong all night, beginning with Aiden Metzger who was solid his first start of the campaign. Austin Frey took on the back half of the contest and turned away every shot he faced.

The defensive tandems of Finn Molenhuis/Jacob Hodder and Malcolm Long/Spencer Henhoeffer kept the Storm offense at bay as they blocked plenty of shots and played one of their most physical games of the year.

Listowel's forward group of Owen Alexander, Liam Ough, Nehemiah Dyck, Hudson Ireland, Avery Spencer, Noah Hiemstra and Ryan Jurgens spent the first half of the game mostly chasing but then settled into their style of tight forechecking which led to more chances in the third.

The Cyclones played well in last weekend's tournament in Mitchell (1-1-1) and will look to continue that trend as they head to Collingwood for the Silver Stick starting on Friday.
