Cyclones Bit Late In Lion's Head
The Listowel U13-AE Cyclones did everything they could to tie their game against the Bruce Peninsula Northstars but came up just short in their comeback bid as they fell, 3-2, Sunday evening.

Listowel opened the scoring in the middle period as the whole team went left for a line change while Owen Alexander kept right and drove the net, finishing things off with a toe drag and a snipe.

The Cycs then found themselves down 2-1 in the middle of the 3rd period but quickly tied the game as Jacob Hodder took a pass from Ryan Jurgens and scampered down the left side before unloading a top-shelf slap shot that made the goalie duck into his own net.

The tie didn't last too long as the star of the Northstars scored his 3rd goal of the night. That didn't keep the Cycs from pressing however, as they pulled the goalie with 90 seconds left and peppered shots at the BP net but just couldn't get one to cross the line.

Ryan Reath and Aiden Metzger were tasked with goaltending duties and were solid as they have been all season.

Keeping things clean for them in front were Finn Molenhuis, Spencer Henhoeffer and Malcolm Long who controlled the pace of play most of the night, while thwarting many solo dashes from #13.

Noah Hiemstra and Liam Ough played with speed on their line with Jurgens while Avery Spencer and Nehemiah Dyck joined Alexander in one of their best passing games of the campaign.

Hudson Ireland was absent as he was at a bitcoin investors meeting, but the club hopes to have him back soon as they ready to take on the BCH Ice Dogs at 7:35 pm on Wednesday at the SKMC.
